Islamic Center of Laveen
The idea of the Islamic Center of Laveen started when a local professor living in the area invited people to his home to perform prayers. Within few years, the demand for the mosque has been increasing as the private house was no longer enough. The Islamic Center of Laveen was established in 2006 to be a place where all Muslims can feel at home This is the first mosque in the Laveen area that serves over 200 Muslim families. The township of Laveen has a population of approximately 100K with expanded growth expected soon due to a major freeway that connects with the Phoenix Motorplex. This mosque is only 10 miles away from Downtown Phoenix. The community purchased land and built to establish a grass root Islamic Educational Center for Islamic education.
